M Cup | Medium

A medium depth cup that spans both small bore and large bore models, the M is closer in feel to the 6-1/2AL, making it a standard for those who prefer a great feeling and playing all-around mouthpiece.

MD Cup | Medium-Deep

Similar in feel to a 5G, the Laskey MD represents a medium-deep cup that is a significant upgrade from the standard G cups of the past. Emerging from a strong low range through to the high register, the MD provides an optimal balance and resistance for a wide range of genres and styles.

D Cup | Deep

Deep, but not as deep as the 51D, the Laskey D Cup is unlike any other you've experienced on a symphony (large) shank mouthpiece. This relatively deep cup gives players a rich, textured tone that feels at home in the principal or second chair. Sometimes, more is more.

Excellent product. I’ve used it in the orchestra both as first and second trombone, and I have to say the result is incredible. It stands out with a beautiful sound, and the ease it offers in every register is amazing.

I find this mouthpiece quite pleasant to play on. The gold finish provides comfort for long rehearsals and the cup depth allows for projection and clarity. It is a perfect combination with my Shires and I would recommend this to anyone seeking a solid professional mouthpiece.

Customer video review of Trombone Classic Series

During rehearsals of A. Dvorack's 9th symphony, my music stand partner let me try his old Laskey 59D and I was delighted, so much so that I performed the concert with it. The next day I placed the order.

Trombone Classic Series

Solid all round mouthpiece. Can get good pedals and have touched double Bb a couple times. Not super great at anything but great at all things

Trombone Classic Series

The mouthpiece solved most of the issues I was experiencing with the Bach 5G.

I played on my Laskey 57MD for the first time today. Moving from a Bach 61/2 . My first impression is with the Laskey I hear a broader tone with less strain, cleaner attacks, and comfortable. My pedal notes will need some work but I think it is normal to need some time for pedal tones to come fully when playing on the new set up. I wanted to start playing on the Laskey with my current horn a Bach 42 BOG until my new S.E. Shires TBRS comes in. I am very pleased with my new Laskey 57MD mouthpiece. Thanks for attention to detail and quality.

Just received my new trombone. The Laskey mouthpiece performs as expected.

Trombone Classic Series

Got exactly what I was hoping for and the mouthpiece is giving a nice rich sound

Trombone Classic Series

Well made and finished well. Fit is great! Lower range improved compared to my Bach 5G.

This is a great mouthpiece! I let a pro player friend listen to me while I tested 3 completely different mouthpieces, including this Laskey 59MD. The first mouthpiece I tried was a different brand that I've been playing on for a few years, but the tone was stuffy. The second one was another brand but is way too big for me (sticking with tenor!) This Laskey is just right and checks all the boxes! Sounds fantastic.

Trombone Classic Series

I received a Laskey 90D mouthpiece with the purchase of a new Shires Q36 bass trombone. It is bigger than I am used to but so far I like it and I am looking forward to playing on it.

Trombone Classic Series

The mouthpiece has great resonance! Fits my embouchure, and the notes slot right in!

I appreciate having had the opportunity to speak to Laskey who recommended three mouthpieces to try out. If I recall correctly, the 54M, which I ultimately chose, was what they thought would be best after our discussion. I've played the trombone non-professionally since the 4th grade and only began exploring mouthpieces in my 60's! I would encourage all trombonists to experiment with different mouthpieces to find one that works best for them. The 54M may not be for you, as mouthpieces are specific to every player, but it always amazes me that just a few millimeters (or tenths of millimeters) in rim diameter, throat size and cup depth can often make such a difference in the horn's output. High register ability can be somewhat improved, but I think only practice can ultimately result in success in that regard. Thank you, Laskey, for your advice and for the great mouthpiece!

Trombone Classic Series

it feels really good, and despite my scraggly and unkempt beard, it fits really well around the mouth.

Trombone Classic Series

Brilliant combination of sizing and shaping rim, depth, and throat, better tone consistency and stability in both extreme highs and lows compared to my trusty 5G. Backbone happens to make the shank a touch thicker, so it’s less likely to take a dent, too!

Trombone Classic Series

I chose the 57MD in an initiative to develop my sound. I always played with the same embouchure. I tried a handful and after two gigs of tryouts, I chose your product. I like the depth given by it, while enhancing my dynamics and my tone's strength. It was exactly what I was searching for. I look forward to appreciate the changes lived trough my instrument on the long term

Trombone Classic Series

Heerlijk mondstuk. Wij hebben voor deze maat gekozen zodat ik nog kan groeien in mijn instrument. Voelt goed aan met de juiste ondersteuning

Trombone Classic Series

Loved the feel and responsiveness of this mouthpiece from the first moment I tried it! Core sound is rich and full. Articualtion takes minimal effort. Couldn’t be happier.

Trombone Classic Series

Initial testing went very well! I used it on one of the crappy university horns and it was phenomenal

Trombone Classic Series

Mi è appena arrivato non vedo l'ora di iniziare a suonarlo so già che è di buonissima fattura e ottimi materiali mi aiuterà tantissimo.

Trombone Classic Series

I started my Laskey trombone mouthpiece experience with the 57MD, but it was much too shallow for me to get the sounds I wanted. It felt and sounded similar to a Bach 5G. I sent the 57MD back and exchanged it for the 57D. I have had the 57D for a few days now, and it is much easier to get the darker orchestral sounds I want, but the upper register is still accessible. I would suggest that players that want a symphonic trombone sound should start with the deep cup instead of the MD.

Trombone Classic Series

I first tried out a laskey at Brass Fest up in Vancouver, BC, and was waiting until I had my own horn to buy it. Just got my 57D and it's quite nice, I think the notes come through a bit nicer with it.

Trombone Classic Series

Top quality manufacturing and wonderful design. The D cups generate good compression but a liquid gold sound while the MD cups give you a little more brilliance in the sound. This is a master tool that allow me to work on the parts of playing with full trust in the equipment.

Trombone Classic Series

I have spent a little time with my 59D so far, but I can already tell that it is a great mouthpiece for me. It gives me a very even sound with little resistance, and a cup that is neither too shallow or deep for the playing I need. I'm very glad I bought this mouthpiece, and know it will serve me well for many years.
